Where are resources spent?
You might be asking yourself, "When I give an offering, where does it go?" That's a great question and one you should absolutely ask of any church or other charitable organization! When you make a monetary donation to Northbrook Covenant Church it goes to one of three general places:
- The largest portion of funds collected go to the ministries of our local congregation. This includes Youth Ministries, Children & Family Ministries, and Adult Ministries as well as general maintenance of church property and funds for the spiritual life and development of the congregation.
- The second largest portion go directly to our ministries of care and compassion. Our ministries of care and compassion are best described as the assistance of those in need. That might look like providing for specific needs like Camp Scholarship Funds and our Benevolence Fund, or more generally, providing financial assistance to people who lack basic necessities.
- We also make it a priority to support our denomination and its missionaries. Funds which go to the Conference and Denomination are responsible for supporting missions work, easing felt needs like disaster relief, planting churches, and caring for all churches and ministers who identify as a part of the Evangelical Covenant Church.
