Mission/Vision

Our mission at Northbrook Evangelical Covenant Church is to glorify God — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — by becoming mature disciples of Jesus Christ and inviting others to join us through:

  • Biblical teaching
  • Prayer
  • Worship
  • Fellowship
  • Service
  • Evangelism

Our vision is a vision of HOPE:

  1. Holistic Small Groups
  2. Outreach Needs/Oriented Evangelism
  3. Passionate Spirituality
  4. Energetic Worship

Northbrook Evangelical Covenant Church will be a place where people are empowered to be part of:

  1. Holistic Small Groups
    • -Believers are unified by their love for Jesus Christ and one another, and there is a desire to reach others with the good news of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
    • -Believers grow in their faith through sharing God’s Word, accountability, prayer and support.
  2. Outreach Needs / Oriented Evangelism
    • -Compassionate care is shown to families in Northbrook and surrounding suburbs.
    • -Efforts to spread the Gospel locally, in the greater Chicago-land area and around the world are enthusiastically supported.
    • -Outreach is intentional, passionate and focused in an effort to build lasting relationships with the un (and non)-churched.
  3. Passionate Spirituality
    • -Prayer envelops process so that that the Lord’s work, not ours, is done.
    • -Children, youth and adults are challenged to grow deeper in their faith and led to use their gifts to further enhance the vitality of the church.
    • -A spirit of generosity is evidenced by the needs of the mission of the church being met.
  4. Energetic Worship
    • -Services are relevant to the needs of the community by being well planned, spirit lead and evangelism focused.
    • -The sanctuary is full because believers are excited to celebrate God; encouraged in their faith-walk; and challenged to live more like Christ.
    • -Contemporary communication and cultural relevance are used to share the Gospel.
    • -Bibles are open as everyone anticipates hearing the Word of God.

"We continually remember before our God and Father your work produced by faith, your labor prompted by love and your endurance inspired by hope in our Lord Jesus Christ."  (1 Thessalonians 1:3)
